Addactis, new Silver Sponsor of the Spanish Actuaries Institute

In addition to regulating, ordering and promoting the actuarial profession in Spain, the Institute is responsible for a high-quality actuarial practice, respectful of standards and ethics. The Institute periodically organises congresses, training courses, conferences and debates for Spanish professionals and academics, where they can meet and participate in discussions that enrich the profession with their analyses and conclusions.

Indeed, through its “Young Talents” Program, Addactis welcomes and trains many interns and work-study students each year, who contribute directly to the development of our analytics solutions, combining high value-added consulting and highly technical software.

Addactis also organises “Pricing Games”, a competition between students based on solving an actuarial problem. Participants must build a pricing project from start to finish to find the best solution to the problem. Addactis has twice organised and animated a Pricing Game for actuarial students of the University of Malaga, and each time it has been a very rich experience, both for the students and for the Addactis experts.

The main objectives of such an event if for students to:

• Have a global idea of the non-life pricing process
• Understand the role of the actuary as a risk analyst and its impact on decision making.
• Be able to link modelling theory with the construction of technical premiums

Addactis is increasing its business in Spain, particularly on regulatory activity, and more specifically on the IFRS 17 Standard, as insurers must comply with the requirements by 2023.
